Drunken Noodles - Wokworks

Welcome to my first blog post of 2024! When I decided to relaunch this blog earlier in the year, there was never a question of which truck I was going to feature first. Wokworks is a food truck I frequently visited for lunch when I used to work in the city and is a truck that has always supported my blog since I first launched back in 2019.

Wokworks operates multiple food trucks throughout the Philly area, many of which participate in different events. I noticed one of the trucks would be at Wissahickon Brewing Company a few nights ago and decided to swing by after work. I was excited to see the Drunken Noodles on their menu and decided to give it a try. This has always been one of my favorite items to order from the truck and might even have been the first thing I ever ordered from them.

The Drunken Noodles consist of a hefty portion of noodles, chicken, shrimp, and veggies. Let’s start with the noodles. Ordering any type of pasta can sometimes be hit or miss because you never know if it will be over or undercooked. However, these workers have the cooking time down to a tee. The noodles were cooked to perfection. There is plenty of chicken, shrimp, and veggies to go around, ensuring you get a little bit of everything with every bite. What really elevates this dish are the spices. While I don’t know the exact spices used, there are so many unique flavors packed into this bowl. It's incredible how well all of these flavors complement each other. I should point out that it has a bit of a kick, but that just adds to the enjoyment.

Wokworks is a food truck I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys noodle and rice bowls, especially if you’re looking for something new. The Drunken Noodles are also a great starting point if you’re just getting into this type of food. You’ll find their food trucks and carts all throughout Philly, and I suggest following them on Instagram to see where you can find them next.
